Electronic manuscripts.

Electronic manuscripts have the advantage that there is no need for the

rekeying of text, thereby avoiding the possibility of introducing errors and

resulting in reliable and fast delivery of proofs. For the initial

submission of manuscripts for consideration, hardcopies are sufficient. For

the rapid processing of accepted papers, electronic versions are preferred.

After final acceptance, your disk plus three final and exactly matching

printed versions should be submitted together. Double density (DD) or High

density (HD) diskettes (3 1/2 or 5 1/4 inch) are acceptable. It is important

that the file saved is in the native format of the wordprocessor program

used. Label the disk with the name of the computer and wordprocessing

package used, your name, and the name of the file on the disk. Further

information may be obtained from the Publisher.

Manuscripts.

All manuscripts are subject to editorial review. Papers are classified

according to the following criteria:

1. Original basic and clinical research articles.

2. Review articles: A specific field is reviewed through classical and

up-dated literature. Review articles are usually invited: however, submitted

review articles will be considered. An abstract is required.

3. Speculative articles: Authors can submit their papers as speculative

articles with or without their own data, provided that they offer new

directions contributing to the development.

4. Negative valuable data: The Journal will also provide a new vehicle for

manuscripts which communicate negative but valuable results in order for

other scientists to preform further research in the related field.

5. Short communications: The manuscript must not exceed two printed

Journal

pages (approximately 6 typed pages, including all written material,

figures,

tables and references). A letter stating that this manuscript is a Short

communication must accompany the manuscript.

6. Manuscripts submitted as a rapid communication van be evaluated ad

published as quickly as possible.  The manuscript must be no larger than 4

printed pages, and should contain results of high priority, and will be

evaluated by higher standards than regular papers.

7. Letters to the Editor: Appropriate subjects are welcomed. They should

not exceed one printed page. Comments may be solicited from the original

authors. All Letters to the Editor are subject to editing. All manuscripts

must be typed in English. Basic and clinical scientific studies should be

organized as follows: Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and

Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, References, Legends,

Tables and Figures. All pages should be numbered consecutively starting

with the

title page as page one. Trade names must have an initial capital; the

trivial name for a compound may be used if the formal, chemical name (as

established by international convention) is given after the first use.
